Emergency Health
Profile Video
The Assignment
Completing an emergency health profile on a phone or online is an important step in ensuring personal safety and quick medical assistance during emergencies. In situations where a person is unable to communicate—such as after an accident, a sudden illness, or a severe allergic reaction—first responders can access this information directly from the device. Critical details like allergies, medical conditions, medications, and emergency contacts help first responders make informed decisions and provide the right care immediately. This can save precious time, reduce the risk of medical errors, and even save lives.
The Maryland Department of Disabilities wanted to develop an animated video to support their “Help Responders Help You” campaign to educate Maryland residents on the importance and process of registering their emergency health profiles on their phone or online. Mission Critical Partners, (a Hyperion Studios client) a public-safety consulting and technology integration partner for the State of Maryland, brought us in on the project.
The Approach
Hyperion Studios worked with MCP and The Maryland Department of Disabilities team to create a series of animated videos that stepped viewers through how to create their emergency health profile on an iPhone, an Android device or online. Four persona characters (and a service dog!) were developed to guide us through the section tutorial videos.
